Susan G. Salvo

The Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy has a rich history of academic excellence.  We're proud of our accomplishments - most of which we owe to the input of our students and the success of our graduates.  Here are a few awards of which we are particularly proud.  

1995 Governor's Pacesetter Award presented to Susan Salvo by the LA Director of Economic Development on behalf of LA Governor Edwin W. Edwards for her her two businesses: Bodyworks Massage Therapy and the Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy.  The plaque reads "For its leadership in Louisiana's drive for economic growth, diversity, and stability."

1996 Small Business Person of the Year Award presented to Susan Salvo by LA Governor Murphy J. "Mike" Foster for her school, the Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy. Susan's husband and colleague, Mike Breaux attends the award with her.

2003 LA Chapter of the AMTA Board of Directors Award presented to Susan Salvo at the State AMTA Convention by Chapter Chairperson, Becky Click in recognition for lifetime contributions to the field of massage therapy.

	1996 Eagle Award for small business achievement presented to Susan Salvo by the Calcasieu Parish Policy Jury.
	1995 ABWA Business Associate of the Year Award presented to Susan Salvo by the Les Femmes d'Affaires Chapter of the American Business Womens Association.

	1989 LA Chapter of the AMTA State Meritorious Award presented to Susan Salvo by the LA State Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association "in recognition and appreciation of dedicated and distinguished service"
	2001 SLAC Certificate of Appreciation presented to Susan Salvo and the Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy by the Southwest Louisiana Aids Council for dedication and support during their health and wellness client retreat.

	1993 Silver Addy Award presented to Susan Salvo and Bodyworks Massage Therapy for excellence in advertising.
	1996 Gold Addy Award presented to Susan Salvo and Bodyworks Massage Therapy for excellence in advertising.

1998 JTPA Quality Award presented to Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy by the Parish Policy Jury's Calcasieu Workforce Center under the Job Training Partnership Act - for providing quality training and services as reflected in a score of 98.5% on the customer satisfaction survey.

2008 Award from Harbour House Presented to the students and staff of The Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy for their contributions of their time and talent by raising money through community chair massage programs to benefit Harbor House ETC, a non-profit agency providing support and counseling to area youth.

2011 Hall of Fame at the World Massage Festival
