CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES
All massage therapists in the state of Louisiana are
required to obtain 12 hours of continuing education
credits each calendar year. To be used for their
license renewal, each course must be approved by the
Louisiana State Board of Massage Therapy. Schools
can also offer continuing education classes that are not
approved for state credit, but simply for the massage
therapist's edification. To be sure that the course you
are taking will apply toward your required renewal hours,
go to the state board website and make sure the course you
want to take is on the approved list.

For clarity, our courses are listed as CEU APPROVED or
NOT FOR CREDIT and then further broken down into Live
Event Courses, Homestudy Courses, or On-Line
Courses.

A live event course requires the student to travel
to the school and attend the course.

In a homestudy course, correspondence is mostly
made through the US Postal service. The student
sends their payment and registration in by mail.
Materials are mailed to the student and they complete
their assignments on their own time and return the
test to be graded. The final certificate is then
mailed to the student.

The On-Line courses are presented over the internet.
The student downloads the materials and completes them
at home in their own time frame. They pay their
fees online and email their completed exam back to the
instructor for grading and then receive a certificate
of completion (in PDF format) back via email for them
to print out for their records.
APPROVED CEU CLASSES FOR CREDIT
The Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy is approved
as a state recognized provider of continuing education
classes. In fact we were the second provider (and
the first school ) to be approved as such. Our LA State Board of Massage Therapy CEU Provider
number is LAP0002.
At this time we are currently involved in developing
our Student Clinic and are not offering any continuing
education classes for credit hours.
